How To Self Care This Holiday Season

Let's face it the holidays while amazing can be a time of stress for many of us. From working extra hours to make that extra Christmas money to spending time with annoying family members, the holidays can truly burn out the most sane of us. So with that in mind here are my top five tips on How to Self Care this holiday season.

The first tip is that you do not have to be all things to all people. It's very important to understand that you cannot pour from an empty cup and that you are not responsible for everyone's happiness. You do not have to say yes to every invitation, you absolutely have the right to say no. You are in the driver's seat of your life and you can pick and choose how you want to spends your time.

My second tip is to take time for yourself. You can start by turning off your phone. I promise it will still be there once you are done. But it's ok to disconnect from the world, relax in bed and watch your favorite Holiday movies every once in a while without anyone disturbing you. It's ok to seek quiet time and solitude. In fact, I have found that in solitude I come up with my best ideas and refresh my mind.

The third tip is to keep a gratitude journal. I can't even begin to explain the life changing power of gratitude. Sometimes when we feel stressed and overwhelmed, it's easy to forget the little every day things we take for granted. And that is where gratitude comes to play. We Begin by making a list of what we are grateful for. And when you do, you notice that you truly do have good things to be grateful for and the universe has a way of bringing more of those good things and good feelings into your life when you focus on gratitude. Here is a beautiful journal to start your gratitude journey:

Make a date with yourself. That's right. Mark it in a calendar and honor it. That can mean going for a cup of coffee or a nice dinner. The point is to treat yourself the way you treat your friend's and loved ones because you are just as important. Time alone to reflect on life and taking a step back to breathe are one of the best ways to self care.

And last but not least make a Spa day at home for yourself. There is something so healing and soothing about pampering yourself and feeling amazing inside and out. And when you feel amazing, you attract amazing things into your life. You deserve the best treatment and care. So Begin by giving it to yourself. Give yourself a nice face mask, a soothing massage with some yummy smelling body lotion, an at home Mani and pedi. Here are some of my favorite pampering products to start:

You get the drift. Basically anything that makes you feel good. Make sure you put on some fun music to make a celebration out of it. And what we are celebrating besides the Holidays is you. Self Care is you right. You deserve to treat yourself with love and kindness and you don't need a holiday for that.

My Favorite Eyeliner

When I shop for an eyeliner I look for one that has staying power, does not smudge and leave a mess on my face, and most importantly, it must be a pencil based one. I am liquid liner challenged and this particular eyeliner by Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner delivers the best application when it comes to great eyeliner. I'm still trying to get the perfect winged look but this is great for daily use to go anywhere. If I could choose any beauty product that I can't leave the house without, it would be eyeliner. Just makes you feel more put together and I'm loving that there is multiple colors to choose from. This awesome eyeliner is available at Target
